• Nylon is a synthetic polymer, scientifically known as polyamide, made from petrochemicals. It consists of repeating units linked by amide bonds.

Manufacturing Process

• Nylon is made through a process called polymerization, where adipic acid and hexamethylenediamine are combined to form nylon 6,6 (one of the most common types).
• The molten nylon is extruded through spinnerets to form fibers, which are then cooled, stretched, and processed.

Physical Properties

• Strength: High tensile strength, making it durable and resistant to wear and tear.
• Elasticity: Good elasticity; can stretch and return to its original shape.
